It has been customary to leave
books, dvds, games/toys
, etc. for guests to enjoy. While a lovely gesture, it will greatly add to your cleaner’s time as each item will need to be sanitized. This is the year to pack them away and encourage guests to bring their favorites from home.
Condominiums and Apartments:
As there are many
shared or common areas
in a multi-family building, it is imperative the common areas are cleaned and sanitized regularly as well. Think of doors, hallways, railings, elevators, decks and deck chairs, common grilling areas, play areas, etc. Please be sure the condominium or apartment complex has a professional cleaner paying special attention to these areas as well.
Heat and Air Conditioning:
Please be sure that the
filters
for your heat/AC system are fresh and clean. Provide your cleaning company with extras so that they may be changed if necessary.
Pools and Hot Tubs:
Discuss with your pool company the need to be especially proactive this season in regulating the chemicals that keep the pool/hot tub clean and germ free. Be sure there is a
regular servicing
schedule in place. Ask your pool company to leave a card behind to reassure guests each time the pool is cleaned and serviced.
Trash and Recycling:
With restaurants expected to be limiting their seating capacity and with more take-out dining this summer, it is anticipated that there will be more household garbage and recycling. Some guests are also indicating that they may prefer to cook at home to avoid crowded restaurant situations. Again, this creates more household waste. Owners need to provide
extra trash and recycling cans
this season. You may need to contract for extra or larger cans with your sanitation service so it is best to check with them now. As always, be sure to leave clear instructions in your home, along with the pick up schedule, so guests know what is expected for trash and recycling here.
