We are happy to announce that a new Payroll System (iTrent) has been successfully implemented for all Modality employees, for the January 2023 pay run. We greatly appreciate everyone's patience and understanding over the past 12 months, regarding the issues and problems we have had with the previous payroll provider. We are confident that the new system will provide us with a resilient, stable and accurate HR and Payroll platform for the future.

How do I access my payslip using the new iTrent payroll system?

In order to access the new iTrent Payroll portal and your payslip for the first time, your line manager will provide you with your username and a temporary password.


Please note: that your temporary password will be your national insurance number, unless you are advised otherwise by your manager, (please make sure you enter your temporary password using capital letters and no spaces).


A user guide has been created and can be viewed here - MODGRP iTrent User Guide - Employee Self Service (ESS) - Modality Group - Modality (future.nhs.uk). The user guide includes the password reset process for the portal, which you can initiate and resolve yourself using your email address. This means that managers will no longer have to administer password resets. If your email is not recognised please contact your manager who will request an update to your account.

Will I have a new payroll number?

The iTrent Payroll System has created a new payroll number for each employee. Your line manager has a record of both your old and new payroll number, if needed for future reference. Employees who joined Modality in December and January will have their new numbers in place by 28th February 2023.


How will historic Payslips & P60s be accessed?

All historic payslips and P60s will need to be downloaded from the Civica (previous payroll provider) employee payslip portal by the Tuesday, 28th February 2023.
