Beautification Process: Removal of Christmas Decorations
Dearest Families and Friends of Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Newark,
We hope this message finds you and your family in good health and the warm embrace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Every year, over 70,000 Christmas grave blankets lay across the graves of loved ones in the Archdiocesan cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Newark.

While many families take it upon themselves to remove and bring their grave blankets home, many grave blankets remain and become part of an extensive beautification. For more information regarding our beautification process and schedule, please click here.

This clean-up process is undertaken each year by Catholic Cemeteries, taking up to three weeks to complete.

If you are interested in retrieving any of your Christmas decorations, including but not limited to grave blankets, please do so as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience.

Thank you, and know that we continue to pray every day to repose the souls of your deceased loved ones.

Prayerfully yours,
Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Newark
