Information from Parent Orientation Meeting
Thank you to the more than 90 parents and guardians who attended Tuesday's Parent Orientation Meeting via Zoom. We were excited to see so many of you there and to share important information about the upcoming school year.

Parents who missed the meeting can download the slide deck used by Mrs. Knighten by clicking here. We have also listed some of the most important information below. We also will be updating our website with this information today.
Weekly Schedule and Monthly Calendar
Synchronous: Scholars log-on to Zoom to actively participate in a live class with their teacher and classmates.
Asynchronous: Scholars complete work assigned by the teacher independently; this time is also used for attending teachers' office hours for additional help.

Mondays rotate through A, B, C, and D days. August 24th will be a D-Day. Please remind your child to check his/her school email for Google Classroom codes before the first day of school.

Download a copy of the school calendar broken down by schedule days (A, B, C, and D) by clicking the image below.
Class Schedules and PowerSchool
Now that student schedules have been completed, PowerSchool is open to scholars and parents. We STRONGLY encourage you to use a computer to access your scholar's schedule, since you will be able to see the schedule organized into a chart showing the exact days and times classes will meet (see the example above). Checking this schedule at the beginning of each week will ensure that your scholar knows what he or she should be doing each school day.

If you or your scholar believe there is an error in the schedule, please complete the form available at this link instead of calling or emailing; this will allow us to best serve all of our scholars and parents.

PowerSchool log-in information for scholars and parents was distributed along with textbooks yesterday and today. If you did not receive this information, please email [email protected]. You will receive a response within 24 hours.
Additional Times for Textbook Pickup
For families who could not make it to the school earlier this week to pick up textbooks, we will have them available for pick up today, August 20, until 1:00 PM and tomorrow, August 21, from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Chromebooks will also be distributed to incoming freshmen and transfer students. (Chromebooks will NOT be given to returning students.)

When you arrive, please pull into the main parking lot in front of the gym. Do not get out of your car. Place a sheet of paper with your child(ren)'s name written or printed in large letters on the dashboard on the passenger side. A faculty/staff member will bring the scholar's textbooks and Chromebook to the car.
Grab and Go Meals
HFCR will offer a Grab and Go Meal option for the first quarter while we are virtual only. Parents must submit an order form weekly for meals for the following week (i.e., order forms are due on Monday in order to reserve meals for pick up on the following Monday). Click here to access the order form.

Grab and Go Meals will begin distribution on Monday, August 31st. Therefore the order form must be submitted by Monday, August 24th. Meals can be picked up from the school at 11 a.m. daily.

The meal costs are based on the determination of the Free and Reduced Meals application. The cost breakdown is:

Free: Free for breakfast and lunch

Reduced: Breakfast: $0.30
          Lunch: $0.40

Full cost:  Breakfast: $2.00
          Lunch: $3.10
