Dear Students & Families,

I hope everyone is getting excited about traveling with their classmates to destinations all over the US and the world this March!

One of the most important issues that we deal with every year is assuring our students travel safely and return home safely. We are working hard to ensure we are as organized as possible to ensure the smoothest experience possible for students. To support this goal, please read the following information thoroughly:

All Students & All Grades

If your student takes prescription medication(s), we must have your student drop it off at school NO LATER THAN Monday, February 24.

  • Each medication must be in its original container.
  • All medications must be in a clear ziploc bag, labeled with the student's full name.
  • Clear instructions, including time of day medication should be given, must accompany your students' medication in the plastic bag.

Receiving these medications ahead of time gives our chaperones a chance to organize and understand your student’s needs. This is critical to creating a healthy travel experience.

All 11th-grade & 12th-grade Students

For all of our 11th-grade and 12th-grade travelers, we must have your passport dropped off at school ON Monday, February 24.

  • Each traveler must bring their passport to school on Monday, February 24
  • Please hand your passport to Administrative Assistant Elaine Wilhelm at the front desk or to Dean of Jewish Life and Philanthropy Rabbi Dennis Eisner. We will be creating stickers for each passport and making a copy of each of them to send to the chaperone team.
  • The Chaperone Lead for each trip will bring all passports to the airport on the day of travel, disseminate them to students at the airport, collect them after we traverse security, hand them back to the students when we land, and then collect them again while they travel.
  • We will reverse this procedure on the way home.

Our experience with passports is that this is the best way to ensure a passport doesn't get lost or misplaced.

We appreciate you helping us help your students travel safely and smoothly! We are available to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

Sincerely,

Rabbi Dennis Eisner

Dean of Jewish Life and Philanthropy
