IMPORTANT: NEW Changes to PL Rater 

Vertafore PL Rater has implemented a Paperless option. The PL Rater system will default to apply the Paperless option. If proceeding with the paperless option and bridging over to NNIC INOW, paperless option will be applied and activated immediately. 


NOTE – With paperless option activated, if the Quote, Application or Proposal is printed, the customer will receive an emailed copy immediately. The customer will receive these emails prior to issuing the policy, because the paperless option has been set up.


See important steps below. 


New process

1 The paperless box will default to checked (See screenshot below).

2 – Uncheck the box if the customer does not want this option.

3 – If proceeding with the Paperless option, an email address is required in PL Rater. The quote will not provide a rate if the email address is not entered in PL Rater. 


*Message when Rating Email address must be entered and selected as Preferred Contact method to apply the Paperless Discount.

4 – Enter Email Address and select “Email Address” as the Preferred Contact Method.

5 – When bridging over to INOW, the Delivery Preference shows “Email” and the email address is displayed.


IMPORTANT NOTE – Paperless is activated IMMEDIATELY (even before issuing the policy). When clicking “Print Quote”, “Print Application” or “Print Proposal”, the customer will receive an emailed copy. Emails are sent to customer prior to issuing. If you do not want the customer to receive the quote/application/proposal emails, change delivery preference to “No Preference”.
