MCSAP Coalition Voting for New Time and Date

Below you will find a poll to help select a new date for our bi-monthly MCSAP coalition meetings. We are changing this meeting for the remainder of the year due to a conflicting county-wide meeting that most of our members attend, including me.

The two new dates proposed are:

The third Tuesday of odd-numbered months, 12-1:30

-July 20

-September 21

-November 16

The last Thursday of odd-numbered months, 12-1:30

-July 20

-September 30

-November 11 (changed due to Thanksgiving)

MCSAP would like to take this time to wish everyone a safe and happy Pride month. MCSAP strives every day to create a coalition environment that is nothing short of inclusive and a safe space for everyone regardless of sexuality, race, gender, and income, and we encourage our partners and members to do the same. To do so, we need to understand and work actively to eliminate substance use disparities that are currently a reality for the LGBTQ+ community. IGNITE Fellowship

Now accepting applications for the 2021/2022 cohort

IGNITE Fellows are politically active local leaders who organize their communities to flex their political power. Every year IGNITE recruits a cohort of passionate women in communities across America and provides them with resources, training, and networks to mobilize young women to become politically engaged. Fellows serve as ambassadors for IGNITE’s mission and help us spread a national message: it is time for young women to own their political power.

Application

The City of Milwaukee Tobacco-Free Alliance will be holding a Health Disparities Panel on Zoom on June 22, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.

Join us to learn more about health disparities in Milwaukee, what factors contribute to it, and how it affects tobacco and substance use.

Safe & Sound and Marquette University are hosting the Second Annual Juneteenth 2021 Virtual Takeover on June 19 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. The event will feature live performances, including song, dance, and spoken word.

Juneteenth is a holiday celebrating the emancipation of Black people being freed from slavery in the United States. It's also known as Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, Liberation Day, and Emancipation Day. This virtual celebration will be aired on Safe and Sound's Facebook page @safesoundinc and on YouTube at youtube.com/user/safesoundinc.
