Pluto - A Spotlight on the Underworld

Many of you have requested that I explain more about the planet Pluto. Pluto is the ruling planet of Scorpio. Today and tomorrow the Moon is in Scorpio. It’s a perfect time to read more about Pluto, and with the Moon in Scorpio, perhaps feel its energy as well. In addition, on October 3 rd Pluto goes direct and aids us with making creative and powerful changes in our lives. (INFO ABOUT ON-LINE MINI COURSE ABOVE)
 
Pluto rules the astrological sign of Scorpio. It is named for the Roman god of the underworld because it is dark, cold and remote. Pluto’s orbit is eccentric so its distance from the Sun changes. It has been closer to the Sun than Neptune for the last 20 years. It takes approximately 250 years to go around the Sun and stays in a given sign for up to 30 years. The influence of the sign bearing Pluto marks an entire generation. It signifies the transformation of an entire generation as well as an individual. It is the principle of death and rebirth, and is seen as the destroyer. With Pluto we come face-to-face with ultimate power: regenerative or degenerative. It represents the deep desire to probe the mysteries of life, including death, sexuality and passion. It symbolizes the source of our karmic guilt, which becomes part of our shadow self. It must be faced to be overcome. The discovery of Pluto also coincided with the ascent of psychotherapy, where healing comes from bringing unconscious secrets into the conscious mind. Pluto's discovery paralleled the development of the atom bomb. Greg Foster wrote: “ Pluto has been described by some modern astrologers as the astrological representative of the soul. Other more psychologically oriented astrologers see Pluto as the ‘shadow self’ that, when embraced, completes us and puts us in contact with our soul.”
An Exercise to Help You FEEL Pluto

Pretend you've tied 20 pounds of weight around your ankles. Each pound represents an attitude, belief or illusion you have been carrying around for lifetimes. Walk for a few minutes feeling that physical and emotional pain. You really want to take those weights off, don’t you? With Pluto in Capricorn, you can!

Question:  Dear Linda, This is not a question. It is a comment on your Virgo article in your last newsletter. I am a heavy Virgo (Sun, Pluto and Mercury). I have always felt weighed down by my obsession with perfection and the need to be right. Not to mention the judgements my friends and family have heaped upon me. Imagine my delight when I showed them your article about my Virgo connection to the divine feminine and divine mother. My Mother is a practicing Catholic and reviers Mary, the Mother of Jesus. She was happy that I was a Virgo! Thank you.

On My Mind - The Importance of Emotion & Resolution of Guilt

I’m still looking for a few good men. And this past week or so, one of them read my last article and reached out to me. Yea! And so it begins. This month I want to talk about guilt . The men I am looking for, the “Aquarian Marines,” are men who know that guilt messes with their life…or need to know about its role in their lives. Okay, here goes. I believe that guilt is a destructive distortion of SHAME as we begin, and are in, the Age of Aquarius. Over the last two thousand years we were cosmic children. In non-Aquarian, hunting, gathering cultures (which we’ve occupied most of the time since we’ve been here as a species), there is only childhood and adulthood. Usually, there is a rite of passage from what we call puberty into adulthood, into the tribe. Cosmically speaking, I believe we are indeed going through our rite of passage, this life, into Cosmic Adulthood. And that frame of reference is even larger than the Age of Aquarius.
