Talc Update

Johnson & Johnson continues its quest to block lawsuits from approximately 40,000 ovarian cancer patients through its bankruptcy filing. On Monday, September 19, 2022, a three-judge panel of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in Philadelphia reviewed Johnson & Johnson’s questionable bankruptcy filing, asking the company’s lawyers if the company’s use of the bankruptcy system was a legal strategy to gain a “litigation advantage.” Following this hearing, the U.S. Third Circuit Court of Appeals will decide whether the bankruptcy should be dismissed, which would allow talcum powder ovarian cancer lawsuits to resume. We will update our talc clients as soon as the court rules on this question. Full update.

Paraquat Update

Exposure to the dangerous herbicide Paraquat can cause Parkinson's Disease. The Smith Law Firm is at the forefront of this litigation, having filed hundreds of cases in the MDL and state court. We are continuing to file our clients’ cases and support the efforts of all plaintiffs seeking justice from greedy corporate defendants. The first Paraquat trials in the MDL and California state court are set for Summer 2023. However, these dates are tentative and subject to change. The litigation process is slow, but we are ready for the fight and appreciate the opportunity to represent our clients harmed by Paraquat exposure. Full update.

Roundup Update

The Smith Law Firm has already recovered millions of dollars on behalf of its clients affected by Roundup. Science shows that exposure to Roundup can cause Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, as well as other types of lymphoma. We are committed to achieving the best outcome for our clients who have suffered because of Monsanto’s failure to warn consumers about the dangers of its weedkiller.
