Dear NSEF Member,
Today, the province announced new sport restrictions that apply to all sport, including equestrian activity. Please read this email carefully, as regulations vary depending on where you live.
Effective 8:00am tomorrow morning (Saturday, February 27th) members are to AVOID all non-essential travel within the province, especially into and out of the restricted areas of Halifax Regional Municipality, up to and including Porter’s Lake, as well as Enfield, Elmsdale, Mount Uniacke and Hubbards. Regulations for each region can be found here.
In addition, equestrian activity within the areas of HRM, Porter’s Lake, Enfield, Elmsdale, Mount Uniacke and Hubbards will be restricted to training groups of up to 25 without social distancing.
The number of 25 includes all participants (coaches, trainers, support personnel, etc.). Competitions, clinics and other events are not allowed and all training groups must be consistent, i.e. regular training clients at same facility. Spectators are not permitted. Before you head to the barn, check with your facility to find out about guidelines specific to that venue.
In all other parts of the province, the rules for equestrian activity remain the same, i.e. maximum number of 60 participants and no restrictions on activity type.
Please note: these restrictions will be in place until 11:59pm, Saturday, March 27th with a possibility of extension.
