2020 Clinical Conference Cancellation FAQ
Fees & Refunds
The AOASM Board of Directors has been working with the Disneyland Hotel to reschedule the 2020 Clinical Conference to dates in 2021. We are happy to announce the 2021 AOASM Clinical Conference dates, April 28-May 1, 2021, at the Disneyland Hotel, Anaheim, California. Pre-conference workshops will be held on April 26 and 27.

Will my registration fee for the meeting be refunded?
You have three options on how to handle your AOASM Clinical Conference registration fees. You may:
1) request a full refund;
2) transfer the registration to AOASM 2021;
3) convert your registration fee to a donation to the Rusty Wright Fund.
How do I tell you what I want to do with my registration fees?
Please submit your request via the
AOASM 2020 Conference Refund Request Form
no later than May 15, 2020. Please allow us at least 30 days to process the refund. Refunds will be processed in the order they were requested.
If I choose to request a refund, how will I receive it?
In most cases, we will be able to refund using the same method of payment. If this is not the case, AOASM staff will contact you directly via email to confirm a mailing address for a check.
Who should I contact about my refund?
Please direct all correspondence about your refund to

. Do not call or use social media channels to inquire about your refund – we are working remotely to ensure the health and safety of those individuals who work with AOASM, and phone calls will delay our ability to respond to you. Please allow us 30 days to process your refund.
I requested a refund before the conference was cancelled and a $50 processing fee was withheld from my refund.
All registrations will be completely refunded in 30 days. You do not need to contact staff to request a $50 refund.
What should I do about my travel arrangements?
Please contact airlines or other transportation companies for guidance on cancelling your travel arrangements. Many airlines are now extending use of cancelled tickets for more than one year.

What should I do about my hotel arrangements?
If you made a reservation at the Disneyland Hotel, we have requested that all reservations in the AOASM block be cancelled en masse. If you made arrangements at other accommodations, please contact them as soon as possible.
I signed up for a workshop or the Red Carpet Event. Will I get a refund?
Yes, activities with separate fees will be refunded at the same time your registration is refunded. Please indicate on the
form
that you signed up for one of these events.
I’m sitting for the Sports Medicine CAQ Exam this year. Will the Exam Review Course be offered virtually?
The AOASM Board of Directors is currently reviewing options for the Exam Review Course. Watch your email for more information soon!
I need Category 1-A CME this year. What are my options?
AOASM is currently developing a shortened virtual conference to be held in the next few weeks. AOASM will request the AOA Council on Continuing Medical Education approve the virtual conference program for AOA Category 1-A CME credits.
In addition, AOASM will be conducting sports medicine sessions at the American Osteopathic Association’s OMED conference in Austin, Texas, October 15-19. AOASM’s sessions will be held on October 17-19, 2020.
Don’t forget to register as SPORTS MEDICINE on the OMED Registration form.
Poster, Case, and Research Presentations
I am a presenter. Are there alternative presentation options to share my research?
During the AOASM virtual conference, case and research presenters will present their research. Presentations will be judged and awards will be given for best case and best research presentation. A format for poster presentations is still being developed. All presenters will be notified when arrangements have been made.
I am an exhibitor. What are my options?
AOASM appreciates those individuals and companies that support the Academy throughout the year. Several options are available to exhibitors:
- Full refund.
- Become a virtual exhibitor, which allows you to host a product theater with live chat scheduled around the virtual conference. This option also includes a one-year listing in the virtual exhibit hall coming soon to the AOASM website.
- Defer your exhibit fee to the 2021 Annual Clinical Conference at the Disneyland Hotel, April 28-May 1, 2021.
- Donation of exhibitor fee to the Rusty Wright Fund.
I received my Award of Fellow in AOASM (FAOASM) this year. Now what?
First, the Board of Directors extends a warm congratulations to each of you. Your
dedication to the service and the field is recognized and celebrated with this award. Please use the FAOASM designation at this time. The 2020 Fellows will be recognized at the 2021 meeting and plaques will be presented at that time.

I am on a committee that was supposed to meet at the Clinical Conference. What are the plans to reschedule?
You will be contacted by your committee chair or AOASM staff directly to reschedule your meeting.
