Dear ABA Member,

I hope this message finds you well. 22 years ago, I moved to Ashland and soon after joined the ABA. I was welcomed by the business community who were kind and open to networking. Obviously, getting a return on your investment requires some effort. So, I started volunteering with membership, scholarship, and events committees, joining the board and ultimately becoming president…twice. It has been remarkably rewarding.

Our current board and committee consist of wonderful and committed members:

  • Richard “Dick” Bennett-Treasurer, who owns Metro West Bookkeeping & Tax Service
  • Sandra Montesino, Vice-President
  • Chrissy Reynolds, Clerk, owner of Annemarie's Dance Centre
  • Paul Netopski, Director, Critical Prism Defense LLC
  • Peter Waisgerber, Director, MetroWest YMCA
  • William Gath, Director, Realtor
  • Peter Chisolm, Director, Framingham State University

I do want to send a special thank you to Beth Reynolds for her tireless service to our board and the Ashland Community. Beth Reynolds has taken over the Assistant Town Manager position and therefore, will fall off the board. Beth has been a tremendous contributor to the ABA, and while we will continue to work with her and the Town to ensure that Ashland Businesses are promoted, we will miss her!!

The ABA just had another successful MetroWest YMCA Regional Barbeque & Business Networking Event with approximately 100 attendees. This was a free event for all participants, regional business associations, allowing for networking, building relationships, and fun. Our next event we are supporting will be Back to School Movie Night on September 6th. This is a great opportunity to promote your business with approximately 250 family members attending the last few years. If interested, please consider being an event sponsor. Your business will be highlighted in the following ways:

  • Prominently listed in event emails and promotions
  • Company Logo on event graphics
  • Listed on Events Calendar
  • 2 Company attendees at the event
  • Recognition at the event
  • Ability to have a table/distribute information/collateral at the event

Lastly, it is imperative that we add new members to the board. Ashland has made so much progress to our community, including our businesses. I will need to step down as president next year and hope that we can continue as an independent ABA; however, we are looking at opportunities with other organizations to leverage our scale.

We want to hear from you regarding the future of the ABA. Let us buy you a bagel on Thursday, September 18th at 8:30 am. To register, CLICK HERE or reach out to me at asachs@centinelfg.com if you are interested in learning more about volunteering.

Thank you for your membership and commitment to our organization.

Sincerely,

Adam Sachs
