Where Are Your Teachers?
Where Are Your Teachers?

March 18, 2020

Dear Holy Rosary School Families,

We survived Day One of Sustained Learning. I am forever grateful for the prayers and positive energy from our HRS community. Thank you to our school parents and guardians who are figuring out the technology connections and, at the same time, keeping the children on a schedule. Thank you to our teachers who are becoming experts in technology and communication.

Governor Newsom's announcement that we should anticipate school closure through summer break was not comforting at all. And while there are no definitive orders, we need to be prepared. We will extend Long Term Dismissal (LTD) through Wednesday, April 8. We will begin our Easter Vacation on Holy Thursday, April 9 through Sunday, April 19, 2020.

On Holy Wednesday, April 8 we will spend our time with our students in prayer and reflection to prepare for the most important moment in the life of our Church.

Our teachers and staff will work together to continue Sustained Learning for our children.   Whatever it takes, we will do it.  Its important and your child's education matters.

"and we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. "
- 2 Corinthians 3:18

"Transformed ...with ever-increasing glory."  In other words, it's an ongoing process, but with the continual help of the Spirit, we're going to arrive at our goal - to be like Jesus!  The point is not to give up our journey.  Let's keep looking to Jesus and keep trusting that the Holy Spirit is doing God's work in us, making us more and more like Jesus each day.  (verseoftheday.com)

This reflection on today's verse speaks about our current experience.  We are learning together, growing together and not giving up.  We will not give up.  #HRSstrong

Your homeroom teacher will send you a google survey for daily attendance.  Please verify your child's attendance during our Long Term Dismissal.

Holy Rosary School relies on tuition to meet the financial obligations of daily operations.  If you are experiencing financial hardship during the Shelter in Place official orders, please email Mrs. Fajardo at ffajardo@csdo.org.  The office will have limited open hours, 9 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.  We are available to take your call and respond to emails.

Take time to review our Holy Rosary School Parent Student Handbook Acceptable Use Policy for Technology.

We will be sending out a permission form on 3/19/2020 to include Video Conferencing with you and your student.  We must follow Safe Environment Guidelines.  Let's keep our students safe while they explore this whole new world.  Supervision is key in helping them make good choices and be successful.  They need our guidance and support.  If you are having technical issues, email your teacher.  We are here to help!

#HRSstrong
