Dear Synergy Family
As you read this, I know that you all are aware of the severity of the COVID-19 virus and its impact on our community locally and nationally. We have been closely monitoring the situation following recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention CDC), local health organizations and the World Health Organization. This message is not to update you on the latest numbers or teach you how the virus came about but rather to assure you we are working on providing a safe environment if you need medical care.
COVID-19 and the changing pandemic present a unique set of challenges for healthcare providers and the public. I wanted to let you know that we are taking additional safety precautions to reduce the risk of transmission to all. We will not be closing our offices unless ordered to do so by the Federal, State or local government. We realize that some of these health precautions may cause a temporary inconvenience, but please be assured your health and the health of other community members is our priority.
It is during these times that the prudent action would be for us to act sensibly and rationally. Hopefully I am not telling you anything that you have not already heard. But the reason I and so many other entities repeat these practices is that they are so important. We have all been advised to limit any unnecessary travel outside of the home currently. The main issue is to limit the spread of COVID-19. I cannot stress enough that you need to wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. You should avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. I ask that you continue to practice safe measures and cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze or use the inside of your elbow. As you are practicing proper precautions, I assure you Synergy will be even more diligent in cleaning the exam rooms, the lobby and all of our office spaces where patients might have exposure.
We do ask if you are visiting our office you limit the number of guests accompanying you to your visit. If you are exhibiting any flu like symptoms, ie: fever, cough, shortness of breath, please refrain from coming to the office and consider self quarantine for at least 2 weeks.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please call the office during regular business hours. If you would like to delay your appointment, we completely understand and ask that you call us to reschedule. Please consider rescheduling also if you fall into a high-risk group (immunocompromised, have heart disease, lung disease, are over the age of 60, have diabetes, or have travelled outside the US in the past 2 weeks). These precautions are not only for your safety but the safety of our staff and for the other patients who are seen in the office.
Thank you for your trust and understanding during these challenging times.
Dr. Anthony Lee
