Dear CoreNet Global New England Community,

On behalf of the CoreNet New England Executive Committee, I hope you, your families and your teams are staying safe and healthy. As the coronavirus pandemic continues to impact our industry, our workplaces, our families and our lives, we wanted to update you on the steps CoreNet New England will take to help promote the health and safety of our community in the coming months.

Based on guidance from public health officials and the scientific and medical community, and input from our Chapter’s leadership, we have made the difficult decision to cancel or postpone in-person Chapter events through August 31st, 2020. This decision includes the cancellation of our Annual Charitable Golf Tournament previously scheduled for July 16th. We will also be canceling our Annual Awards of Excellence event, previously scheduled for November 19th.

As the pandemic evolves, and hopefully subsides, we will re-evaluate opportunities to bring our community together for other in-person events in the fall.

The Golf Committee, in partnership with our Community Reinvestment Committee, is currently exploring opportunities for the Chapter to continue to provide support to the Boys and Girls Club of MA in lieu of raising funds for them at the golf tournament.

While it saddens us to think of canceling our Annual Awards of Excellence event - a highlight of the year and a celebration of our Chapter’s greatest leaders, collaborators, and accomplishments - we are working on an alternative celebratory honorarium for various members of our membership and community. Please stay tuned for more information.

Although we will not celebrate individual awards this year, we do plan to recognize two sets of project award winners at our 2021 Awards of Excellence celebration for both 2020 and 2021 projects along with one set of 2021 individual award winners. Only projects submitted by May 29, 2020 will be considered for the 2020 awards. If your entry is mostly complete, but missing an element due to the pandemic, such as professional photography, as long as you start your nomination and bring it as close to completion as possible by the May 29th , you will be able to finalize your submission at a later date, TBD, dependent on the Commonwealth’s guidance regarding returning to business / project sites. If you have nominated a person for a 2020 individual award, their award will be considered alongside those nominated in 2021. If you have any questions regarding Awards nominations, please contact Awards Committee Co-Chairs Jessica Pernicone or Sarah McGuillicuddy .

While we won’t be together in person any time soon, we remain committed to our mission to connect corporate real estate professionals, end users and service providers to advance knowledge, promote personal excellence and add value to our members’ careers and their businesses. We think it is vitally important to stay connected and up-to-date on issues and solutions during this once-in-a-lifetime event. We will continue to provide significant value to our Members, Sponsors and Corporate Partners through the newly launched CRAVE Series (CoreNet Real Advantage Virtual Education) , which includes weekly educational webinars and happy hours, and Career Strategies + Development workshops which aim to help members successfully navigate and advocate for themselves and their careers during this challenging time.
