Dear Majestic Owners-

As of 4:00 pm (Central Time), Michael has been upgraded to Hurricane status with winds at 80 mph. The storm is now expected to be upgraded to a Catagory 3 or major hurricane status before making landfall. Winds at this point are projected to be 120 mph.

BAY COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT HAS ISSUED A MANDATORY EVACUATION ORDER EFFECTIVE AT 6:00 AM, TUESDAY MORNING. EMERGENCY OPERATIONS OFFICIALS URGE EVERYONE TO BEGIN EVACUATING TODAY IF POSSIBLE. DUE TO THE MANDATORY EVACUATION ORDER, MAJESTIC MANAGEMENT AND STAFF HAVE ALREADY BEGUN PULLING ALL BALCONY FURNITURE. ON TUESDAY AT 12:00 PM, ALL ELEVATORS WILL BE STATIONED AT THE TOP FLOOR AND POWER TO THE ELEVATORS WILL BE SHUT DOWN. ADDITIONALLY, POWER TO THE BUILDING, INCLUDING EMERGENCY GENERATOR POWER WILL SHUT OFF BY 12:00 PM. MANAGEMENT AND SERVICE PERSONNEL WILL LOCK THE DOORS AND WILL EVACUATE THE BUILDING AT 12:00 PM ON WEDNESDAY. ANYONE PLANNING TO IGNORE THE EVACUATION ORDER SHOULD KNOW THAT EMERGENCY SERVICES SUCH AS FIRE, POLICE, AND RESCURE WILL BE LIMITED OR NON-EXISTENT. LASTLY, ONCE WINDS REACH 50 MPH SUSTAINED WINDS ON THE BRIDGES, FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL WILL CLOSE THE BRIDGES. AGAIN, IT IS ADVISABLE THAT GUESTS AND OWNERS BEGIN EVACUATION TONIGHT. DEANE BOZEMAN SCHOOL, LOCATED NORTH ON HIGHWAY 77 WILL OPEN AS A SHELTER BY TUESDAY AT 10:00 AM.
