Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Mid-Year Reminder
All active members are required to accumulate and report a minimum of 12 CPD hours annually (two of which must qualify as ethics). The current CPD term ends December 31, 2025, and June is a great time to review your CPD hours and plan for the upcoming months. Even if you have currently met your 2025 hours, do not forget you can carry up to 12 CPD hours into next year.
Accumulate Hours
To accumulate CPD hours, you have the following options:
-
Participate in qualifying CPD activities (in person or virtual). The CPD Policy permits a wide range of professional development opportunities offered by the Law Society and other education providers. Refer to our website for upcoming Law Society CPD programming.
-
Subscribe to CPD OnDemand for access to all recorded versions of Law Society CPD programs, or purchase specific recorded versions from our Recorded Versions Shop which houses hundreds of CPD programs available for purchase, or in some cases, available free of charge. Recorded versions must be viewed and reported prior to December 31, 2025.
-
Submit a request for an “Out-of-Province Exemption” if you have met the CPD hour requirement in another Canadian jurisdiction which has sufficiently comparable CPD requirements. Send the request to cpd@lawsociety.sk.ca with confirmation of the completed CPD hours from the other Canadian jurisdiction.
Report Hours
Please log into your Member Profile to review your CPD hours so you know how many hours you need to accumulate and report before the current CPD term ends on December 31, 2025. We recommend reporting your CPD hours as soon as possible to avoid any issues. Detailed instructions are available to assist in navigating the CPD reporting system.
If you have hours that you failed to report in 2024, please report these hours on your 2024 form and not your 2025 CPD form. Members can report 2024 hours themselves.
If you believe there is an error with your current carry over hours, or if you require assistance reporting CPD hours, please contact our CPD department by email (cpd@lawsociety.sk.ca) or phone 306-569-8242.
