Semester 2 Reopening Updates, Next Steps

As a reminder, ICS will start the 2020-2021 second semester in full VIRTUAL mode for ALL students and ALL grades. Additionally, the ICS Leadership Team will continue to monitor the current Covid-19 Pandemic trends to evaluate any impact on our planned academic models. As stated throughout the pandemic, safety for students and staff remains our top priority during this public health crisis. As we round out the final week of Winter Break, we encourage you to stay safe and enjoy holiday time with your immediate family taking caution to avoid large indoor gatherings with friends or extended family. Please be sure to check your email, text and social media platforms on Friday, Jan. 7, 2021, for the next schoolwide communication.


2020-2021 SECOND SEMESTER UPDATES, NEXT STEPS

> Semester 2 Schedule Reminders
  • ICS will be in full VIRTUAL mode for grades K-12 during the first two weeks (Monday, Jan. 4 - Friday, Jan. 14, 2021) of the second semester. 
  • Note that Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, is an observed holiday and school is not in session.

> 2020-2021 Semester 2 Academic Model Planning
As shared in recent communications, ICS intends to offer two academic model options (Hybrid or full Virtual) for the third quarter. Thank you to all who responded via the online selection form.
ICES, ICMS and IPA building leadership are working diligently throughout this week to complete our internal scheduling process. We greatly appreciate your patience as our team members work to create class rosters based on academic model preferences and cohort assignments. Further, please note that our staff will place a high priority on keeping siblings/family members in the same cohort.

ICES Student Scheduling Considerations, Next Steps
  • If families have selected an academic model for the second semester that differs from the first semester, ICES building leadership will extend a courtesy call to confirm the switch, as well as to notify parents/guardians of their student's new teacher and cohort days. Again, this courtesy call and confirmation is ONLY applicable to those parents/guardians who have changed academic models for the second semester.
  • All families should expect to hear directly from the teacher via Class DOJO and/or email regarding Google Meet schedules for the first two weeks of the semester.  
  • ICES parents/guardians will receive the ICES "Peek at the Week" from Ms. Dehner, ICES Principal, this Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, via email. Information regarding logging in to Google Meets for classes will be included. Please monitor your email.

ICMS Student Scheduling Considerations, Next Steps
  • ICMS students and parents/guardians will receive email communication from Ms. Venekamp, ICMS Principal, confirming student cohort assignments and instructional models.
  • ICMS students and parents/guardians will be able to access PowerSchool throughout the the week to view their assigned class schedules.
  • ICMS students and parents/guardians will receive the ICMS "Peek at the Week" from Ms. Venekamp this Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, via email. Information regarding logging in to Google Meets for classes will be included. Please monitor your email.

IPA Student Scheduling Considerations, Next Steps
  • IPA students and parents/guardians should check PowerSchool at the end of this week to view class schedules. 
  • IPA students should keep an eye on the IPA Google Classroom for important reminders and announcements beginning January 4, 2021. As a reminder ALL IPA students will be learning virtually from January 4, 2021 - January 15, 2021. Please refer to the e-Learning Guidelines provided in your report card mailing for details.
  • Communication will be sent via email the week of January 4, 2021, confirming second semester academic model choices and cohort assignments.
  • IPA students and parents/guardians will receive the IPA "Peek at the Week" from Ms. Goebel, IPA Principal, this Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, via email. Information regarding logging in to Google Meets for classes will be included. Please monitor your email.


> ICS Student Device Checkup, Status
  • ALL ICS students and parents/guardians should check their school-assigned device THIS WEEK, to ensure they are fully charged and working properly in preparation for the first day of the second semester on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021.

> ICS Student Meal Delivery Service (January 2021)
ICS will reinstate weekly student meal delivery service on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021. All students are eligible for this service during the first two weeks of January, minimally, as ICS starts the second semester in FULL virtual mode (1/4/21 - 1/15/21.) Please note that ALL families interested in this service must complete the online sign-up process. Also, please be aware that all meals will be charged according to the student’s current qualifying meal status (free, reduced, or full pay). Click HERE to be directed to the online form. Questions?
