ST. GERMAIN TRANSFER STATION
OPERATIONAL REVISIONS

The Town trash and recyclables transfer station off Pedycourt Road is now being managed by Republic Services. Payment for trash drop off has been changed from cash to punch cards. This is intended to expedite drop offs and eliminate handling of cash by the attendant. Punch cards do not expire and can be purchased at either Republic Service's main office in Eagle River or at the transfer station.

Punch card options are:
  • 4 punches @ $14.00
  • 8 punches @ $24.00
  • 20 punches @ $50.00

Punch cards are required only for TRASH disposal.
Non-restricted recyclables continue to be free of charge.
Restricted recyclables are not accepted at the transfer station.

For further information call Republic Services at 715-477-0077.
2021 INDEPENDENCE DAY
CELEBRATION - JUNE 27

Continuing the long-standing tradition of celebrating Independence Day on the Sunday preceding July 4, St. Germain's celebration this year will be June 27th.

The Town Independence Day Celebration Committee is busy planning a full day of family fun events to make this celebration the best ever following COVID triggering cancellation last year of everything except the fireworks.

Please visit the Independence Day Celebration Committee page of the Town website often to see the expanding list of planned activities as more are added in the coming weeks.

NOTE: Volunteers (students) are needed to walk the parade route during the parade to help keep spectators (children) from entering the roadway. This donated time will be eligible for community service credits through the Northland Pines School District. Contact either of the following for details:
Jeff Sauer: 815-761-6857 or jsauer750@wersauer.net

NEW TOWN TRUCK

The Town has taken delivery of a new truck, bringing the fleet of road service vehicles to three. Neither of the two existing trucks are being retired. One has recently been updated with a new engine, transmission and other major parts. With this third truck, the front end loader will no longer be used for snow removal. Winter plowing and sanding throughout the Town will be completed faster with the additional truck.

The yard waste facility will open at 8:00AM, Friday, April 23 and remain open 24 hours daily until 8:00PM, Sunday, June 6. Violations of the site rules could cause these hours to change without advance notice.

The facility will open as needed throughout the summer subject to weather events.
