Dear CMG Providers,

Essential updates for today:

  • Please see today's summary from the CDC and DPH here.

  • Perks and Freebies for COVID-19 Healthcare Workers: An extensive, categorized list of discounts and freebies available to healthcare workers, last updated on 5/26/20. Categories include Medical Wear/Equipment/Education, Food/Drinks, Transportation/Auto Services, and many more.

  • Click here to view a list of all tele-health extension dates by carrier. This document will be edited to reflect any new information updates. We are actively working on permanent adoption of tele-health policies implemented during the Covid-19 pandemic.

  • Update on Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act:
  • The bill has passed the House. The updated bill would extend the forgiveness period for PPP loans from eight to 24 weeks.
  • It would also reduce payroll spending requirements from 75% of loan funds to 60% of loan funds, giving businesses more flexibility in deciding how to allocate the emergency funds, and extend a June 30 deadline to hire workers back.
  • The push for the bipartisan legislation came after widespread complaints that the PPP’s original terms were too restrictive for struggling small businesses.
  • The Paycheck Protection Program Flexibility Act was introduced by Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) and Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.).
  • It passed in the House on Thursday with a vote of 471-1; only Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) voted no. The Senate adjourned before Memorial Day without passing a different piece of legislation that would have expanded the PPP’s terms.
  • This bill is now headed to the Senate, where it is expected to pass.

  • Please look for an email tomorrow outlining details around an opportunity for group purchasing of face masks for CMG members.

  • We are creating a Recovery Toolkit to provided detailed guidance to practices on reopening. We expect the first version to be published Monday. Thanks to all the administrators and clinicians who helped in its development.

Stay safe. Be well. God bless.

Best,

Joseph L. Quaranta, MD
