Re:        COVID-19 Update

Dear CMG Providers,

Essential updates for today:

  • Please see today's summary from the CDC and DPH here.

  • Screening programs for healthcare providers are being developed. Currently there is a screening program under way for all medical staff members of YNHH, Bridgeport and Greenwich Hospitals. Programs for L and M are in development. The screening is by appointment only and will be at the hospitals. We are working on extending to the rest of our office staff, but it is not available at this time. Please click here for access to the link and QR code to self-schedule. The appointment is for a witnessed (required for FDA approval) self-collected mid-turbinate nasal swab.

  • The Senate just passed a modification to the PPP program, awaiting signature by the President. You can find details here.
  • Highlights include:
  • Extending the expense forgiveness period from eight weeks to twenty-four weeks
  • Reducing the 75 percent payroll ratio requirement to 60%-40%
  • Eliminating 2-year loan repayment restrictions for future borrowers
  • Allowing payroll tax deferment for PPP recipients
  • Extending the June 30 rehiring deadline

  • To help guide our practices we have created a recovery toolkit for CMG practices which you can find here.

  • The rest of our Covid-19 resources can be found at our website.

  • Viral swab testing capacity is currently adequate for need and turnaround time is stable at under 48 hours or better. Elective procedures and recovery may strain that capacity in the future and we are continuing to work on preserving access and developing new options for testing. There is much interest in CLIA waived office based point of care testing. We are currently exploring the diagnostic accuracy and potential reimbursement for these modalities without any specific guidance at this time.

  • As you can tell the pace of new information has slowed and we will decrease our emails to once per week for the time being. More targeted and focused messages will be sent as needed and the website will be updated regularly.

Stay safe. Be well. God bless.
