Re:        COVID-19 Update

Dear CMG Providers,

Essential updates for today:

  • Further positive cases continue to be reported across multiple hospitals across CT.

  • CMG has implemented its COVID-19 response plan. We are shifting significant resources to support our practices in dealing with the pandemic while maintaining routine functions. We plan to keep functionality throughout the crisis, including the capability for all staff to work remotely.

  • Testing sites remain limited, and throughput of tests also remains very limited.

  • Commercial labs have begun accepting COVID-19 swabs. Capacity remains low, and we suspect demand to outstrip supply. Th2ere will also be a prioritization process expediting patients based on severity. Access to test results in reasonable turnaround time and on a large scale remains limited.

  • Please see the attached flyer for information about ICD 10 coding and Covid 19.

  • See this attachment, which describes the Medicare “Virtual Check-in” as an option for a telephonic visit.

  • Please consider enrolling in our telemedicine platform. Reach out to Susan Loiacano for more information.

  • We are working to clarify with all insurers policies regarding billing and coding for COVID- 19 related issues, including patient copays, telemedicine codes, telephonic consultation codes.

  • We are working to develop standardized clinical guidelines for triage, evaluation management, and referral for ed/hospitalization. Adult guidelines are forthcoming. Pediatric guidelines are still in development.

  • We are developing guidelines and FAQs for dealing with HR issues related to COVID- 19. We will be disseminating general information, but ask that you, please call us with specific questions that remain unanswered.

Please reach out to us with any issue that you may have. We will do everything we can to help. If you have any further information or ideas, please let us know.

Stay safe.
