Due to the increasing seriousness of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, increasing governmental regulations regarding sporting event attendance and, most important, the well-being of those associated with the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA), the IEA Board of Directors and management concluded it best to cancel all competitions scheduled from March 16 - May 10, 2020, including Hunt Seat National Finals and Dressage National Finals.  We will continue to monitor the situation and provide an update regarding events scheduled after April 30 along with the possibility of re-scheduling any of the cancelled shows by mid-April.

Specifically:

HUNT SEAT:
  • ZONE 1 FINALS - Canceled
  • ZONE 2 FINALS - Canceled
  • ZONE 5 FINALS - Canceled
  • ZONE 10 FINALS - Canceled
  • ZONE 11 FINALS - Canceled
  • HUNT SEAT NATIONAL FINALS – Canceled
  • NOTE: ZONE 4 FINALS and ZONE 7 FINALS will continue as planned for March 14-15, 2020. Attendance at these two events is a personal decision based on no specific restrictions in those areas. If you do NOT plan on attending Zone 4 or Zone 7 finals, please reach out to your Zone Administrator immediately.
  • An announcement regarding the possibility of rescheduling will be made by April 15, 2020.

DRESSAGE:

  • An announcement regarding the possibility of rescheduling will be made by April 15, 2020.

WESTERN:
  • All Regular Season Western Shows and Western Regional Finals scheduled between March 16 – April 30, 2020 are Canceled.
  • Based on circumstances, these shows may be rescheduled.
  • Western National Finals remains scheduled for June 13-14, 2020. As with the other disciplines, we will re-evaluate mid-April with an updated announcement including updated qualifying information.

Making these changes is not easy on any of us. Cancelling these competitions is particularly difficult on our wonderful student-equestrians who work so hard to make it to the year-end competitions. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding. We know that these major changes will create many questions and concerns that we will be addressing over the next few weeks. Any post-season show entries will be refunded as soon as possible. We are sorting out the best way to handle this process.

Please stay tuned for further updates by email and refer to the IEA website home and zone pages. If you have further questions, please contact the IEA Membership office at 877.743.3432 or by email at info@rideiea.org .
