UPDATE: Yard to Open to Public on
Friday, May 22, with Limited Services
We are extremely excited to announce that the yard will open to the public Friday of Memorial Day Weekend! Although boating this summer seems to be shaping up differently, we ask everyone to follow the current outlined boating protocols to ensure that we will all be able to enjoy relaxing, fun-filled days on the water with our families.

State and municipal authorities require boaters to maintain the same social distancing protocols on their boats and at the yard as they do at home and at the grocery store. It is critical that everyone adheres to these guidelines, so that boating remains open. Massachusetts has summed up their policy very succinctly:
“No gathering or groups of persons from multiple households will be permitted on boat ramps, docks, piers, (marinas), etc., and all users shall practice strict social distancing.”

We ask that our customers adhere to the procedures described below so that we can operate safely and effectively. Please understand that all processes and procedures are in place to ensure the safety of our crew, customers and our community. Proper social distancing is vital.

In addition to the guidelines below, we ask that customers continue to communicate with us to ensure the safety of all. If your vessel should require our attention, understand that we must take all measures to ensure the vessel is properly cleaned before and after one of our crew members goes aboard.

This season, we strongly encourage customers to consider securing a dinghy that can be left at our dock or on the hard for use at your convenience. A dinghy can provide a safe, worry-free way of getting to your vessel for you and your crew. Please be aware that wait times for a launch ride might be longer due to limited capacity with social distancing. Remember your dinghy should be 10' or less.
UPDATED PROCESSES & PROCEDURES

  • In addition to all your essentials, please have a face covering available if social distancing is not an option, as well as sanitizer, wipes, and disposable gloves for handling shared dock lines, dock carts, fuel pumps or other communal areas.

  • We ask that customers please stay off the docks unless your boat or a member of your immediate household's boat is tied up.

  • Avoid the common courtesy of helping others with their dock lines or accepting help, unless there is an immediate need to avoid injury or damage. Wash or sanitize your hands after handling someone else’s boat or lines.

  • Upon arrival, please go straight to your vessel. When returning, please go directly to your vehicle.

  • Launch service will begin Friday, May 22, 2020. Launch service capacity will be assessed on a trip by trip basis. We ask that you please adhere to passenger limitations in order to maintain a 6 foot distance from others. Stay safe. Passengers using the launch MUST wear face masks and practice social distancing.

  • The fuel dock will be marked with social distancing in mind, so we ask that everyone is respectful of others safety while waiting for the launch.

  • Fuel will be by appointment only. Appointments may be made through the office or directly with the launch crew on VHF Channel 69. We ask that customers stay aboard their boat when fueling up. Face masks and gloves are required.

  • Pumpout will also be by appointment only. Face masks and gloves are required. We encourage customers to utilize the Bourne Pumpout boat which can be reached on VHF Channel 9.

  • For safety reasons, the ice will be locked. To purchase ice, please see the launch crew.

  • The restrooms will be open for emergency use only. Disinfecting supplies will be available. Frequent cleanings will be performed by PBY staff, but use at own risk.

  • The office will remain closed to the public, but purchases can be made over the phone and will be available for curbside pick-up.

  • Please call ahead or send an email to make an appointment to meet with one of our service specialists if you have work to be done on your boat.

  • On the Water: Please follow the guidelines provided by Mass Marine Trades to ensure the safety of all. (Please see linked flyer below.)

  • Reservation requests are actively being accepted through Dockwa and via phone.

  • If you are entering the yard from out-of-state, it is recommended that you self-quarantine aboard your vessel for two weeks, per the Governor's Executive Order, or proceed directly from your vessel to your vehicle and return home.
We understand that these protocols are unique and uncommon. We ask that everyone be mindful that this is not only about your own health, but also the impact that you could have on the health of others. Boating is an excellent way for families to distance themselves socially, while getting the benefits of fresh air and shared enjoyment. We greatly appreciate your patience and support of our efforts to maintain a safe and healthy workplace and facility.

We look forward to seeing you on the water!
