COWABUNGA

Auditions are only a month away!

All kids Kindergarten through Grade 4 have been introduced to the great sport of gymnastics. You may not know, but Dani Potts was coached by Big Boss for several years here in Bigfork. It was a tradition for over 10 years for Bigfork Gymnastics to do a 7-8 minutes routine during Cowabunga!

With Dani's help we are going to revive that tradition! Gymnastics is now part of our daily routine and the kids are loving learning tumbling tricks, stack ups and games all related to gymnastics. ACES kids who would like to audition for Cowabunga will need to leave March 16-17 open for auditions and be sure and attend ACES that day. Only those who audition will be allowed to perform.

Middle Schoolers have the option of participating and helping with the show and we welcome them!

READ THROUGH BIGFORK

Aces has a new homework program. Homework time consists of 20 minutes each day. During that time kids work on their spelling words, projects that they are working on in class such as narrative pieces, do IXL and Scratch on the Chromebooks, as well as the Middle school kids providing mentoring and homework support to the younger kids. 

To promote reading and encourage the kids for all of their hard work they have been putting in during our “homework” time we will be doing Reading Through Bigfork. All kids 1st grade through 8th grade will read to gain “mileage” and at certain Bigfork locations they will earn a prize. The first kid in each grade to read all of the way through Bigfork will receive a special large prize. Reading through Bigfork will start Monday February 22nd! Only time/books spent reading at ACES during the homework time will count for the contest.

Our Summer brochure and online registrations will be available March 1st. Please keep an eye out for a newsletter containing this information.

ACES GREENHOUSE

You may have noticed our new greenhouse! Thanks for CrossRoads Christian Fellowship we were able to purchase a quality greenhouse to grow our own produce throughout the year.

All that is remaining is getting our heater hooked up, our seedlings going, and then we will be in business. To prepare, we are learning about composting and soil. We are also testing donated seeds to see if they are viable.

If all goes well our first seedlings should be ready for the Greenhouse by March 15.

Last week we had an incredible crew from Fresh Life Church volunteer their time to help make improvements around our building.

They spread gravel in our driveway, built shelves in our pantry, rearranged furniture, and so much more. Thank you for all of your hard work, Aces appreciates each one of you!
