Earlier this month, the IMRF Board of Trustees interviewed candidates to become the organization's next Executive Director. Soon, the Board will execute second-round interviews. The Board's goal remains to announce the next Executive Director during the fourth quarter, with a start date during early 2018. While this is a confidential process, the Board remains committed to keeping members, retirees, and employers informed of key developments.
The IMRF Executive Director is appointed by and reports to the IMRF Board of Trustees. In addition to other duties, the position has responsibility for the general administration of IMRF, as well as the achievement of the organization's Mission and Vision Statements.
There are eight members of the IMRF Board of Trustees. Four are elected by IMRF employers, three by IMRF active members, and one by IMRF retirees. Each Trustee is either vested in the system or receiving an IMRF pension.
Current Executive Director Louis W. Kosiba announced his pending retirement earlier this year.
