Get Ready for 2026 by Cleaning Up

Employer Access

Taking a few minutes in December can help you get ready for the new year by making sure your data collections are cleaned up.


Data Collections provide important information about your employees that determine their future IMRF pension benefits. If all the information is not submitted in Employer Access correctly, your employees may receive incorrect information in their annual Member Statement in 2026 as well as delay claim processing for members applying for benefits.

Tips on Issuing Your

2025 W-2s


Tax season is quickly approaching and putting tax information together for your employees is going to be a top priority.


IMRF has some important resources for employers and employees here.


Also take a minute to review this helpful information for employers preparing W-2 forms for their IMRF employees.

IMRF is Moving!

As the lease for the current Oak Brook office ends, IMRF will be moving to a new location in Oak Brook in January 2026.


The Board of Trustees determined that the new office space will be best for IMRF's future. The office will have "Member-Only" parking, a larger reception area, meeting rooms for workshops, and more.


Both offices in Oak Brook will not be open to the public after December 19 through the beginning of the New Year. All other services will continue without interruption and IMRF's Springfield office will be open as normal during this time.

November Board Meeting Highlights

On Friday, November 21, the IMRF Board of Trustees:

  • Approved final employer contribution rates for 2026.
  • Reviewed the amortization policy and the approach to setting the assumed rate of return.
  • Approved the participation of two new units of government.

The next regularly scheduled Board meeting will be held Friday, December 19, at 9 AM.

2026 Employer Access Workshops Announced

IMRF will continue to host Employer Access Workshops to answer some of the most commonly asked questions.


Each session will review a specific topic with demonstrations from IMRF staff. Participants are encouraged to ask questions during the presentation and questions will only be viewed by workshop leaders.

Upcoming Authorized Agent Webinars

IMRF offers online webinars for Authorized Agents to learn more about IMRF procedures, and how the fund is administered.


IMPORTANT NOTE: By law, all new Authorized Agents must attend Authorized Agent training within three months of appointment.


There are two modules to complete:

  • Module 1: Introduction, Enrollment, Wage Reporting, and Termination
  • Module 2: IMRF Benefits, Employer Rates, and Legislation


December

  • Module 2: Wednesday, December 17


January

  • 2026 Authorized Agent webinars will begin in February.


February

  • Module 1: Wednesday, February 11
  • Module 2: Wednesday, February 25


March

  • Module 1: Wednesday, March 11
  • Module 2: Wednesday, March 25


All sessions run 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM.

 

Webinar Structure

This 2-part webinar series prepares IMRF Authorized Agents to perform common IMRF tasks. 


Each webinar stands alone, and you can attend them in either order. Canceling your registration from just one module is not permitted.


Note: To receive a completion certificate, you must attend the online session live. Watching a recording at a later date will not result in a certificate of completion.
