IMSA Launching New Fiber Optic Certification

In case you missed it, IMSA is launching a new certification – Certified Fiber Optic Specialist/Design. It represents the next step in our modernization and certification expansion efforts and keeps a promise we made earlier this year, to build on our existing certifications and be more responsive to the industries we serve.


Working with the Fiber Optic Association, Inc., we have built this new certification to go beyond the initial Certified Fiber Optic Technician, which covers the basic installation of ITS, Traffic, Fire Alarm and Communications systems. The new fiber optics design class will improve skill sets and certify that recipients are now qualified to design fiber optic systems. Read more...

Accepting Nominations for 2023 IMSA Awards



IMSA is now accepting award nominations for 2023! The IMSA Awards recognize outstanding individuals, volunteer committees and sections representing the best in the Public Safety industry. Candidates must meet all criteria for the award for which they are being considered. Click here to view Awards criteria. Only members of IMSA can submit a nomination. You may nominate yourself or a colleague. All award nominations must be submitted by March 1.

It's a new year, which means your 2022 IMSA membership expired on Dec. 31. Renew today by logging into your IMSA website account and clicking on My Payments to view open invoices. You should have also received a paper invoice by mail.

Traffic Signal Technical Sessions Available



The 2021 and 2022 IMSA Traffic Signal Technical Sessions are now available. The technical sessions offer Continuing Education Credit hours that can be used toward your Traffic Signal Certification Renewal.
