INCOMPAS Applauds Senate Confirmation of Trusty to FCC

Last week, the U.S. Senate confirmed Olivia Trusty to serve as Commissioner on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

The Senate's confirmation of Olivia Trusty to the FCC continues to allow the competitive communications industry to thrive. Olivia has proven herself to be an exceptional advocate for pro-competitive policies that break down barriers and unleash the power of the free market. Her deep understanding of telecommunications policy, combined with her unwavering commitment to reducing regulatory burdens, will be instrumental in connecting all Americans and restoring our nation's leadership in next-gen communications technologies," said INCOMPAS CEO Chip Pickering.

Bill Would Require Edge Providers to Contribute to USF

Reps. Randy Feenstra (R-IA) and Teresa Leger Fernandez (D-NM) introduced the Lowering Broadband Costs for Consumers Act. The bill would require edge providers to contribute to Universal Service Fund.

Senate June 25 Markup to Include COPPA

On June 25, 2025 at 10 a.m. ET, the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, will convene a full committee Executive Session to consider legislation and nominations, including the Children and Teens’ Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
