FCC Announces Connected Care Pilot Program Deadlines
The FCC Wireline Competition Bureau issued a public notice announcing deadlines for the Connected Care Pilot Program. It also waived and extended the end date of the program.
The following dates are applicable to all projects:
August 18, 2022 - Last day to post initial FCC Form 461 (request for services form) to USAC’s website
September 16, 2022 - Deadline for all selected projects to submit initial FCC Form 462 (funding request form) to USAC
December 31, 2025 - Last day for pilot program participants to end their projects

FCC Receives $2.8 Billion in Emergency Fund Requests
The FCC announced it received funding requests for over $2.8 billion in the third application filing window of the Emergency Connectivity Fund. The FCC said applications will be prioritized to fund schools and libraries with the greatest need first, with a preference for those located in rural areas.
FCC Releases Report on Best Practices for
Providers Using Caller ID Authentication
The FCC released a report on best practices for terminating voice providers using caller ID authentication, prepared by the NANC Call Authentication Trust Anchor Working Group. The FCC asked NANC to: identify and explain how STIR/SHAKEN caller ID authentication information is being or has been used by voice providers and others to combat illegal robocalls; and recommend a set of best practices for terminating voice providers to reference regarding both the use of STIR/SHAKEN information to protect subscribers and protecting subscribers who fall outside of the STIR/SHAKEN framework. NANC also recommended a number of issues for further study.
