INCOMPAS Show Brings Together Industry for Three Days of Connections, Business Building

The 2024 INCOMPAS Show in Denver last week was action-packed, offering numerous opportunities to network, meet new prospects and partners, and learn about industry challenges and opportunities.

With the largest attendance in over a decade, the show continues to grow. More than 28% of attendees were newcomers, and over 20% of the companies participated for the first time.

The exhibit hall, Deal Center, meeting rooms and lounges were buzzing with activity. Many made new connections with top industry buyers at the Buyer Forum. Our keynotes, Uniti’s Kenny Gunderman and NTIA’s Sarah Bleau, along with our panelists, provided great insights.

To watch all education sessions on demand, visit The 2024 INCOMPAS Show playlist on our YouTube channel. And to learn more about the news companies were making at the show, check out the Monday, October 21, and Tuesday, October 22, editions of the Show Daily

INCOMPAS and Cloud Communications Alliance Push Back on FCC's Proposals to Update the Robocal Mitigation Database

INCOMPAS and the Cloud Communications Alliance (CCA) filed joint comments in the FCC's Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM), which proposes new measures to increase accountability for providers that participate in its Robocall Mitigation Database (RMD).

The two organizations urged the FCC to provide more specificity regarding what must be included in a filing, and in particular to what constitutes the “reasonable steps” that providers and carriers must take to mitigate illegal robocalls as part of a Robocall Mitigation Plan. They also noted that in the absence of standardized redress procedures for call and text blocking, terminating providers and their analytics partners could utilize their place in the call path to discriminate against competitive providers’ and their customers.

INCOMPAS and CCA urged the FCC to remove this proposal and maintain the current process, which requires providers to block traffic only from providers that have been removed from the RMD.

GOP Attorneys General Ask Supreme Court to Take USF Case

Last week, a group of 15 Republican state Attorneys General filed an amicus brief asking the Supreme Court to take up the 5th Circuit's Universal Service Fund case and agreed with Consumers Research that the current funding mechanism is unconstitutional. Attorneys General from Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia signed on to the brief, plus the Republican Arizona State Senate Majority Leader.
