Dear OCPS District 2 families,

It is an honor welcome you back, after our first week of classes, to a school year of many new changes and exciting opportunities. With OCPS being the 9th largest school district in the nation, we have our own challenges and barriers to overcome and with the help of our families, staff and strong district leadership, we can continue to do what is best for our children.

I want to dedicate this edition to our teachers and administrators, because I am grateful for the passion and dedication you bring to your school every day. Most of our district leadership began their careers teaching, and through each respective journey, you learn the value of perspective and the different roles you own between being a parent, teacher, administrator, and leader. We are here because of the lasting impact our teachers had, and we are here to support you and fight alongside you for a better tomorrow.

Congratulations to all our schools for making our students and staff feel more comfortable for their first week back to classes. We are proud to have also increased school access to mental health support services made that is available for our students and families, see the community connect image below to search for resources by your zip code. In addition, all of our school personnel will have access to school safety resources and training as school safety remains a priority in our district.

As a result of the 2021 Census and 2022-23 district leadership appointments, it is my honor to welcome new administrators to our school board district 2 family, in addition to Cypress Springs and McCoy Elementary Schools! I look forward to visiting you and seeing all the amazing things you’re doing to support student success and achievement!
