RAVE: Great Western Trail
Tuesday, April 18  |  6 - 7:30 p.m.  |   Just south of Cumming along the trail
Participate in a Random Act of Volunteering for the Earth (RAVE) event out on the Great Western Trail! Remove invasive plants for 1.5 hours, get a drink ticket for the Cumming Tap!
 
Earth Day Trash Bash
Friday, April 21   |  12 - 5 p.m.  |   Des Moines
We're seeking people to join the INHF team for Earth Day Trash Bash 2017! Last year, teams all over Des Moines collected over 40,000 pounds of litter, brush, tires and recyclables in Des Moines while beautifying public lands, cleaning up our waterways, clearing away invasive species, creating new trails and more. Come clean up the metro with us! 

 
 
5th Annual Into the Wild & Out with the Mustard!
Saturday, May 6  |  8:30 a.m. & 1:30 p.m.  |  Heritage Valley in NE Iowa
Join us for a day of land care, meeting others, a little hiking and a lot of fun at Heritage Valley, a 1,200-acre ecological preserve not usually open to the public. No experience needed!
 

Can I Upcycle That? Invasive Species Short Class
Thursday, May 18  |  5:30 - 8:30 p.m.  |  Jay Spence Shelter House, Greenwood Park, Des Moines
The Upcycle Program takes invasive plants from our parks and feeds animals at the Blank Park Zoo. Curious about invasive plants, native alternatives and which ones the giraffes enjoy? Join us!
 

G.R.A.S.S.: The Great Race Against Shrubs and Shade!
Friday, June 2  |  9 a.m. - 12 p.m.  |  Turin Prairie, western Iowa
This is one of the LARGEST days of land restoration in the state - join us to see the land change before your eyes!
 
 
National Trails Day Celebration
Saturday, June 3  |  12:30 - 8 p.m.  |  Jester Park, Des Moines
Join Polk County Conservation, INHF and REI West Des Moines to celebrate National Trails Day with an afternoon of natural trails maintenance! Afterward join us to learn more about the history of Iowa's trails while enjoying drinks, food and live music. 
 
UPCYCLE Event: Restoring Our Woodlands, Uniting Our Community
Thursday, June 15  |  5:30 - 7:30 p.m.  |  Gray's Lake, Des Moines
Join us to remove invasive species from the landscape to feed the zoo animals. Afterward we'll gather at a local establishment for food and drinks. No experience necessary. Kids aged 14+.
