SOIL CONDITIONS: Medium to wet soils preferred and adaptable to clay soils. Less tolerant to drought than other mountain mints.
HABIT: 2-3’x widely spreading
FEATURES: Clustered mountainmint spreads readily by rhizomes and this should be noted when considering where to plant. In natural settings it is often found in masses as it spreads outward. Its leaves have a silvery color as well as the silvery bracts that are showier than its small pink/purple flowers. In the winter the stalks and seed heads provide good structure and interest.
