When the Iowa Nursery and Landscape Association cancelled the 2020 Day of Service, many members did service projects on their own. We would like to promote how you benefit your local communities throughout the state of Iowa.
Send us information about your local service project along with any photos and we'll feature it in an upcoming newsletter. Send info and images to:
Please include your company name, the entity you did the service project for, the location of the project (town or city), and a description of the project along with any other helpful information about why the project took place.

WESTERN Trade Show Cancelled for 2021 |

A note from the Western Nursery and Landscape Association:
After very serious discussion about the state of the global coronavirus pandemic, the Western Nursery and Landscape Association (WNLA) Board of Directors has made the unanimous decision to cancel the 2021 WESTERN scheduled for January 13-15, 2021 in Kansas City, MO.
The health and safety of WNLA's members, exhibitors, partners, and supporters is of utmost importance, and it has become clear that the WNLA will not be able to host a safe, in-person event.
With the financial uncertainty created by not holding a 2021 WESTERN the WNLA board has also elected not to reschedule the 2021 WESTERN for January 2022. The Board of Directors is committed to engaging WNLA members to explore new ways to fulfill the purpose of re-launching a future event that provides education, networking, and trade opportunities to help their green industry members thrive.

CFAP2 Applications Open Through December |
|
A second phase of the Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP 2) has been announced. USDA will make up to $14 billion in additional funding available under streamlined program provisions. For Horticulture, the basic approach is to calculate payments on a percent of lost sales 2020 vs. 2019. Payment rate is roughly 10 percent of loss.
The application period will run from September 21 until December 11.
This program is distinct from CFAP 1. Payment limits and other restrictions for phase two are similar to CFAP 1.

BAILEY LAUNCHES QUARTERLY
E-LEARNING SERIES
|

Beginning in September Bailey Nursery Quarterly is providing e-learning events to the nursery and landscape industry. The September sessions focused on grower customers and provided information on hydrangeas and bareroot trees.
The fourth quarter series will focus on retail topics.
