Buckman Prize Awarded - Nessa Unseld

We are thrilled to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Nessa Unseld, the outstanding founder of the Coleus Academy, for being named the inaugural recipient of the prestigious Buckman Prize! This esteemed award was presented to Nessa during our recent Summit of the South conference.

Nessa has demonstrated exceptional dedication and innovation in the field of education through the creation of Coleus Academy, a nonprofit e-learning platform. This initiative aims to bridge the gaps left by the de-emphasis and, at times, outright omission of practical skill-centric education in American curriculums. Her commitment to empowering learners with valuable, real-world skills has not only earned her this well-deserved recognition but also positioned her as a leader in the education sector.

The Buckman Prize, awarded to outstanding student entrepreneurs at Western Kentucky University, is a testament to Nessa's entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to making a positive impact.

In addition to her entrepreneurial endeavors, Ms. Unseld is a distinguished scholar in The Mahurin Honors College and a proud graduate of The Gatton Academy, further showcasing her academic excellence and well-rounded achievements.
