“My personal favorite way [to approach a New Year] is to do an inventory of the things I am already doing differently and perhaps better than last year.”
~ Shoshanna Hecht, New Year's Inventory

"... living this life is challenging at times
but from a higher viewpoint
an elevated frequency
it is all unfolding as it should
to push you and persuade you to step up
higher into Truth
your personality will make all sorts of excuses
why everything isn't working
or how you're better than everybody else
trained to see only our differences
but your soul doesn't see the world that way
only opportunities for further expansion."
~ Krista Reierson, Expansion
These two inspirations showed up in my inbox this week. Both excellent reminders for the coming days and approaching New Year.

I met Shoshanna Hecht at a Chrissy Carter yoga retreat over 5 years ago, but I'm thrilled that she's still present in my life through her own e-newsletters, if not in person! A recent submission included the quote above, which struck a chord for me reflecting on a year of many personal changes and opportunities.

I also regularly receive the Elena Brower curated, Teach Yoga e-newsletter which included a beautiful writing by Krista Reierson outlining differences between our personality and our soul... the ending of her piece is included above.

I have been sharing shades of these concepts in my classes this past week and asking students to consider one thing that happened in their life over the past year that brought to them a change that they are grateful for. Perhaps it was something that was planned for and worked fervently toward which finally came to fruition, or perhaps it was something that presented itself and created change in its unfolding.

My trip to France was a combination of both of these.... a dream, lots of planning, and a, somewhat unexpected, unfolding of Self... and something I am immensely grateful for as I take inventory of my own changes in 2017. The image above is of the 15th century building apartment steps that I climbed back on day one of that adventure in expansion back in October.

Here's to stepping up into Truth, seeing from our soul, and another New Year ahead...

Namaste,
Kristi
