Open meeting to consider a new rule that would speed the process of bringing an ETF to market. The SEC will discuss whether to propose regulations that would allow asset managers to sell certain types of exchange-traded funds without first gaining its approval. Under current rules, wannabe ETF issuers must get SEC permission - a process known as exemptive relief - before selling funds under the Investment Company Act of 1940. The two agenda items:
- Amendments to Smaller Reporting Company Definition: Whether to adopt amendments to the definition of "smaller reporting company" and other rules and forms in light of the new definition (Division of Corporation Finance).

Inline XBRL Filing of Tagged Data: Whether to adopt amendments to rules and forms to require the use of the Inline eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) format for the submission of operating company financial statement information and fund risk/return summary information and related changes (
Division of Economic and Risk Analysis, Division of Corporation Finance, Division of Investment Management).
