FEDERAL RESERVE
Fed's Federal Open Market Committee holds its monetary policy meeting. The FOMC will announce its decision on interest rates at 2 pm ET followed by Fed chair Janet Yellen's news conference at 2:30 pm ET.
Fed policy makers are expected to boost their benchmark lending rate by a quarter point after data on the labor market and inflation moved more in line with their goals. The Bank of England, the Bank of Japan and the Swiss National Bank set monetary policy this week as well.
