SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION
Open meeting to
decide
whether to change proxy voting rules to
allow investors to "split their ticket" among both management and shareholder director candidates in a contested election.
Institutional investors are among those pushing for amendments to proxy cards rules that would level the playing field for those who can't be present for votes.
House Republican want to block the changes by tying their prohibition to an SEC funding bill that the White House has threatened to veto.
The agency also will consider rule amendments proposed a year ago to facilitate intrastate and regional securities offerings which would allow companies to raise money within a given state without registering with the agency and
whether to repeal a regulation that allows the unregistered offer and sale of up to $5 million in a 12-month period but doesn't permit general solicitation.
