Visitors from Monaco, France

Julian Alonso, IPA Official from Monaco, France came to Vegas in October 2023. Two of our IPA Region 38 Members Byron Lee and John Chase, met up with Julian at varies stages of their trip. Many thanks to our wonderful Region 38 members for showing Julian and his fiancée, Alexandra, a wonderful time in Las Vegas.

Byron Lee took them both to the Boulder City Rifle and Pistol Club Range in Boulder City, NV. They enjoyed friendly conversation discussing the differences in firearms laws between France and the USA, as well as officer safety and policing styles in France. It was Alexandria’s first time shooting and she did great. They were also able to meet and talk with other retired officers at the range.

At lunch, they were joined by another of our wonderful Region 38 IPA Members, John Chase and fellow Boulder City PD colleague, Aaron Johnson, both from Boulder City Police Department. After lunch John and Aaron arranged a wonderful tour of Bouder City Police Department and its training facility. Julian and Alexandria even enjoyed shopping in Historic Downtown Boulder City.

June 24 - 28. 2024

The US Section will again be hosting our regular training program from June 24-28 2024 in Green Bay, Wisconsin (USA)! Training on topics that affect officers globally will be presented.

Topics will include:

Law Enforcement Use of Force, Firearms Training, Defensive Tactics Training, Officer Resilience and Safety, Civilian Response to Active Threat Incidents and Officer Response, Tactical Demonstrations, Small Group Tactics, Drones in Law Enforcement, and much more!!

Registration is open now, and spots will go fast!

IPA Sections will be able to register two members per section until November 1, 2023 (and any open spots will then be opened after that date for other interested members)

Course cost includes: Training sessions and materials, ground transportation to and from training sites and airport, breakfast each day, lunch each day, dinner four nights, and more!

Course cost: $750.00 per person ($250.00 deposit will be required at the time of sign-up)

Housing costs: $25.00 a night (rooms will be available a couple night before and after the training to accomodate flight schedules)

Super Bowl LVIII Comes to Las Vegas!

What a historic event for those of us that live in Las Vegas. Before 2017, Vegas had no sports teams at all. In 2017, the sports world came to Vegas with the Vegas Golden Knights, and that first year they won the Stanley Cup! Who would think that a hockey team could win over a huge city in the desert! The City of Vegas, with the help of investors, poured in a huge chunk of change building the new Allegiant Stadium just so the Raiders can play in a state-of-the-art facility. I personally have never been inside, but some of my friends have and they say its AMAZING. Not only did they build a stadium, but they build a brand-new huge training complex in Henderson that is just beautiful. No wonder the A's want to move here! In 2020, the Raiders began to make their move to Vegas, and the buzz is the Oakland A's may move here to Vegas. To have the Super Bowl here is fantastic, for us locals it maybe more traffic congestion, but Las Vegas is proud to host this event. Traffic will be CRAZY!

I was born and raised in San Francisco, Bay Area, and am rooting for my home team the San Francisco 49ers!

REGION 38 NEEDS YOUR HELP!

Las Vegas is a hot spot for International Travelers. Region 38 gets many IPA Travel Requests from International visitors coming to Las Vegas. Some of the things they are wanting are - tour a local police station, go to lunch with some retired, or active officers, go to a gun range, do a ride along, etc... Some of our Region 38 members have stepped up to assist with a few of these requests. We don't want to always call on the same people, to assist with these so no one gets burned out. So, if you are willing to help with some of the requests, please complete the survey below by clicking on the link so that we can create a list of those willing to help.

Even if you completed the Survey in the past, please do so again so we can update our list, and make sure you are still available to help.
