Barefoot in the Park premiered on  Broadway on October 26, 1963, and starred  Robert Redford , Elizabeth Ashley, Mildred Natwick  and  Kurt Kasznar. The play closed on June 25, 1967 after 1,530 performances. It was Neil Simon's longest-running hit, and the tenth longest-running non-musical play in Broadway history. The play was made into a hit film in 1967, starring Redford and Jane Fonda.

The play revolves around a newlywed couple, Corie (played by Hollie Guidry) and Paul Bratter (played by Grant Broussard). For their first home, they live in an apartment on the top floor of a  brownstone in New York City. During the course of four days, the couple learns to live together while facing the usual daily ups-and-downs. Corrie wants Paul to become more easy-going: for example, to run "barefoot in the park”.

Other colorful characters include Corie’s mother, Ethel Banks (played by Stephanie Judice), the neighbor, Victor Velasco (played by Kevin Judice), the telephone repair man, Harry Pepper (played by Milton Resweber) and the delivery man (played by Michael Durhan).

This performance is supported, in part, by a grant from the Louisiana State Arts Council, through the Louisiana Division of the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts and administered through the Acadiana Center for the Arts.
