2026 SUMMER MISSIONS TRIP ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear Congregation,

We are pleased to announce that we are organizing a team from our congregation to go on a short term mission trip this summer (2026) to serve in Honduras. For many years our congregation was involved in short term missions trips and it is our desire to once again be involved in this important work. Missionary activity is part of the great heritage that we have in our congregation as well as in our Presbyterian tradition more generally. Our faith as Christians, and particularly Reformed Christians, leads us to care deeply about the glory of Christ in the building of his church around the world. We seek to honor that heritage and be engaged in the great work of the gospel around the world by supporting and praying for Presbyterian missionaries as well as through our yearly Missions conference. Yet, another important way for our congregation to be involved in missionary work is through short term missions trips.

In light of this we are seeking to organize a group from our congregation to work with Rev. Aaron Halbert in Honduras who is one of the missionaries that we support and have had preach at our church in the past. We will be serving in Honduras from June 27-July 4th and are hoping to gather a group of 15-17 people. We would invite anyone in the congregation who is interested in the work of missions to prayerfully consider being a part of the group. We will be having a interest meeting during the meal following the evening service on January 18th on the first floor of the Whitaker building and encourage all who are interested to attend and learn more about the trip. After the meeting, we will be sending more information.

In the year ahead, ask God each day to speak directly to you from the Scripture portions you read. Be expectant, and let your continual exposure to God’s Word reshape your attitudes and behavior as you gain a better understanding of every part of His written testimony to us.
