OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse, aims to reach children with the Gospel through gift-filled shoeboxes. The project hopes to collect enough shoeboxes to impact another 12 million children. Since 2009, over 46 million shoebox recipients have participated in the 12 week discipleship program entitled “The Greatest Journey”.
Our church will participate in collecting filled boxes for O.C.C. Empty boxes will be available for you to pick up and fill starting in September. They are located in the hallway leading into the sanctuary, as well as by the elevator outside of the kitchen. Inside each of these boxes will be a special hand-crafted trinket box made by Mr. Charlie Brown. All filled boxes are to be brought back to the church no later than November 16, 2025.
Items that can be included in the boxes are small toys, school supplies, new socks, hygiene items and notes to the child. Please also include a $10 donation per box to help with shipping.
This can be paid on-line or by check made out to “Samaritan’s Purse”. A pre-paid envelope is available to mail the check.
Thank you so much for participating and blessing these children with your gifts. If you have any questions, please contact Denice Jefferson (contact info in Realm directory).
