Thanks to the generosity of IPM's donors, more than 400 students in our community are heading back to their classrooms carrying new backpacks filled with school supplies. IPM’s Back to School event, hosted by Mt. Carmel Christian Church, combined a backpack distribution, mobile food and produce pantry, St. Vincent de Paul clothing voucher dispersal and a hotdog cookout to assist our neighbors in need. IPM and Mt. Carmel Christian Church volunteers stuffed and sorted backpacks with grade-appropriate items (markers, crayons, ruler, etc.) and handed out more than 250 of backpacks to help students get ready for the school year.

"It's a blessing for us," said Joyce, whose three grandchildren received backpacks. "They had a house fire and they're living with us."

Additionally, IPM has distributed 150 backpacks at drive-through pantries at the IPM Newtown and Amelia locations, 4X4 mobile food pantries at local schools and other community events.
