Job Title: Executive Secretary-Treasurer

Reports To: IPPSER Board of Directors


The Board of Directors of the IPPS Eastern Region has voted to restructure its management in an effort to better serve the membership and ensure the sustainability of the future of the Region. We have hired an experienced event management company, Delaney Event Management, to work with our Local Site Committee to manage our annual conference. And now we are looking for a new Executive Secretary-Treasurer to oversee the Board of Directors plus other affairs of the Region, including membership, finances, general correspondence, communications and other programs as necessary.

IPPS Eastern Region Foundation:

Supporting Students and More


The IPPS ER Foundation will be awarding four $2,000 scholarships in 2026 to students studying horticulture at 2- and 4-year schools as well as students in graduate programs. Announcements will be coming out in March and April with a June 1st deadline. 


The Foundation will also be supporting a young ER member's attendance at the annual meeting of either the Southern Region (Oct 18-22 in Houston, TX) or Western Region (Sept 1-4 in Salt Lake City, UT). Announcements will be coming out in March with a June 1st deadline.

Research News: Mt. Cuba Center Solidago Report

Mt. Cuba Center is excited to announce the release of their latest research report from the Trial Garden: Solidago for the Mid-Atlantic Region! Solidago, commonly known as goldenrod, are adaptable native plants that provide beauty and ecological value to almost any garden. The trial evaluated 70 types of Solidago, including 50 distinct species as well as cultivars and ecotypes native to the eastern United States. The evaluated plants included goldenrods that were commercially available, wild-origin collections of commonly available species, and additional species that are relatively obscure and rarely cultivated.

The IPPS Eastern Region is pleased to host this year's International IPPS Tour. Join fellow plant enthusiasts on an unforgettable journey traveling from the vibrant Twin Cities of Minnesota to the beautiful landscapes of Michigan. The trip is open to all and includes two exciting options: a comprehensive 14-day tour beginning September 11, or an 8-day condensed tour starting September 18 in Chicago, Illinois. Online Greenhouse Training

IPPS Members Save 20%



The award-winning program Greenhouse Training Online from University of Florida IFAS Extension has launched new courses for 2026. Courses are taught in English and Spanish, with over 6,800 greenhouse and nursery growers trained from all parts of the world.


New courses include:

  • Plant Growth Regulators by Dr. Garrett Owen (The Ohio State University)
  • Cuttings and Stock Plant Management by Dr. Jim Faust (Clemson University) and Dr. John Dole (North Carolina State University)


Various targeted programs are available and the 15 courses are spread throughout the year starting with Nutrient Management 1 (Intro) on March 2.
