Economic Impact Analysis Released

The IR-4 Project is known within the specialty crop agriculture community to be a highly productive government funded research project that has delivered many registrations of necessary crop protection products to growers. Headquartered out of North Carolina State University, the IR-4 Project conducts research to develop data needed for registrations with an annual funding of approximately $17 million. To understand the economic impact of the actions and deliverables of the IR-4 Project, Michigan State University’s Center for Economic Analysis was commissioned to assess the economic contributions of the IR- 4 Project.

Ginseng and Lowbush Blueberry Growers Have New Tool in Fight Against Fungal Disease

Ginseng and lowbush blueberries are vastly different crops, but growers have one common foe that can end their growing season: fungal disease. Now, thanks to international partnerships and research conducted by the IR-4 Project, ginseng and lowbush blueberry growers have a new tool to keep their crop yields healthy and strong.

Presentations Posted for 2022 Industry Technology Session

The IR-4 Project 2022 Industry Technology Session took place on Thursday, July 21. The annual event gives companies the opportunity to present updates on products already in IR-4 research, as well as new technologies designed to assist specialty crop growers with their pest management needs. Recorded presentations are now available to be viewed on the Industry Technology Session event webpage.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Registration Open for 2022 Food Use Workshop & Event Deadlines

Registration is open for the 2022 Food Use Workshop. Research priorities for residue, product performance, and integrated solutions studies for 2023 will be identified during this event.

This year’s workshop will be held in person September 13 - 15 in Bloomington, Minnesota at the Hyatt Regency Bloomington-Minneapolis. A virtual option will be available for participants unable to attend in person.

Event Deadlines

Upcoming deadline to submit residue and integrated solutions requests for consideration at the 2022 Food Use Workshop is Friday, August 12.

Hotel group rate is available until Sunday, August 21. If you are planning to attend in-person and have not yet secured a hotel room, you may wish to do so while this rate is available.

Registration Rates:

$250 until 11:59 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, August 31

$350 after 12 a.m. EDT on Thursday, September 1.

Cancellations and requests for refunds must be submitted by Tuesday, September 6. No refunds will be granted after this date.
