HIRING AND STAFF UPDATES
Job Opening: National Information and Communications Officer
IR-4 is accepting applications for a national information and communications officer to join the headquarters team at NC State University. As part of IR-4’s Administration Team, this role will lead and manage information and communications efforts for the IR-4 Project. Duties include managing internal and external communications, content development, brand management, website and social media management. This position will interface with IR-4 and industry scientists and staff across the U.S. and abroad. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations or a related field and at least three years of full time professional experience in communications or marketing.
Staff Update: David Schnatter
The IR-4 Project at NC State University is pleased to announce that David Schnatter has transitioned into a new role with IR-4 Headquarters. David joined IR-4 in October 2021 as the business and events operations assistant with the Administration Team. He will now serve as the business operations associate and will be responsible for providing business, financial, and event support. He will also work on special projects. David comes to IR-4 with a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and a minor in entomology from NC State University.

We are pleased with David's contributions to our work thus far and are excited to have him continue to work with the headquarters team in this new capacity. David can be reached at: drschnat@ncsu.edu and 919-515-1552 (Office).

Crop Vignette: Hibiscus

Plant Information Hibiscus, which is commonly referred to as rose mallow, is a genus of flowering plants that belong to the Malvacea family. Hibiscus can be both perennial or annual herbaceous plants, woody shrubs and small trees.

UPCOMING EVENTS
Registration Open for 2022 Industry Technology Session
Thursday, July 21, 2022 (Location: Virtual)
The annual event gives companies the opportunity to present updates on products already in IR-4 research, as well as new technologies.

The session is a precursor to the 2022 Food Use Workshop. Technologies discussed during the session will be eligible for IR-4 research in 2023.
Registration Open for 2022 Food Use Workshop
Registration is open for the 2022 Food Use Workshop. Research priorities for residue, product performance, and integrated solutions studies for 2023 will be identified during this event.

This year’s workshop will be held in person September 13 - 15 in Bloomington, Minnesota at the Hyatt Regency Bloomington-Minneapolis. A virtual option will be available for those who are unable to travel.

Upcoming deadline to submit residue and integrated solutions requests for consideration at the 2022 Food Use Workshop is Friday, August 12.

Registration Rates:
$250 until 11:59 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, August 31
$350 after 12 a.m. EDT on Thursday, September 1.

Cancellations and requests for refunds must be submitted by Tuesday, September 6. No refunds will be granted after this date.
