Twenty twenty-one was a year IR-4 will not soon forget. Despite the challenges we continued to face in the second year of the coronavirus pandemic, our team has maintained an uninterrupted level of service and support for our growers and stakeholders, while also accomplishing significant achievements.

IR-4 Project Commodity Liaison Committee Elects New Chair, Vice Chair |
|
The CLC is a stakeholder group that provides guidance to the IR-4 Project on ways the organization can best assist specialty crop growers with their pest management needs. Members represent growers who produce fruits, vegetables, nuts, horticulture and nursery crops, and other specialty crops. Members also advocate for IR-4 to elected officials and decision makers.

Mefentrifluconazole Crop Safety - 2022
Avelyo (mefentrifluconazole) is a fungicide developed by BASF that has been registered for use since May 2020. It is used for the control of diseases such as anthracnose, powdery mildew, leaf spot, scab, rust, and blight.

SP2700 Crop Safety - 2022
SP2700 is a new fungicide being developed by SePro for the control of diseases on environmental horticulture crops such as Alternaria, Cylindrocladium, Fusarium, Rhizoctonia, and Thielaviopsis.

Register Today for the IR-4 Research Symposium: Food Crops
Registration is open for the inaugural IR-4 Project Research Symposium, taking place on Tuesday, April 12, 2022. During this virtual event, presenters will share research results from Integrated Solutions and Product Performance trials on food crops. Results from these trials are used to identify potential pest management solutions and to support product registration.

Virtual Crop Tour Series Invitation: Hops
Join us Monday, April 18, from noon until 1:15 p.m. EDT for a virtual tour of the domestic hop industry.
Commodity representatives and pest management experts will discuss the growing hop industry, demand for American-grown hops around the world, and pest management issues. More information will be available on our website in advance of the tour.

IR-4 Northeast Region Annual Meeting |
|
The IR-4 Northeast Region is hosting an annual meeting for everyone associated with the production of specialty crops in the Northeast. The meeting will take place virtually on Wednesday, April 20, at 2 p.m. EDT.
Almost all pesticide registrations for specialty crops are the result of IR-4 efforts. IR-4 also provides support for biopesticide and organic pest management strategies for growers of fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, horticulture, and nursery crops. During the Northeast Region Annual Meeting, staff will provide updates on important changes in the organization, answer questions, and ask for support and ideas.

Save the Dates: 2022 Industry Technology Session and Food Use Workshop |

Thursday, July 21, 2022 (Location: Virtual)
The annual event gives companies the opportunity to present updates on products already in IR-4 research, as well as new technologies.
September 13-15, 2022 (Location: Bloomington, Minnesota)
Research priorities for residue studies, efficacy and crop safety research, and integrated solutions projects for 2023 will be identified during this workshop.
