Tentative and scheduled trials for upcoming IR-4 food crop research are now available on the IR-4 website.

During the 2021 Food Use Workshop, research priorities for residue studies, efficacy and crop safety research, and integrated solutions projects for 2022 were identified. Research planning for the coming year was finalized in October at the National Research Planning Meeting.

The IR-4 Project has announced that the organization's North Central Regional Analytical Laboratory at Michigan State University will close, effective July 31, 2022. Closing this laboratory will not adversely impact local field trials or other IR-4 services provided to specialty crop growers and stakeholders in IR-4's North Central Region. All field research scheduled for 2022 will proceed as planned.

The IR-4 Project is still accepting applications for a chemist and study director to join IR-4 Headquarters at NC State University. This role will be responsible for providing technical direction of IR-4 magnitude of residue studies, coordinating ongoing residue trials, and developing data packages, as well as evaluating and maintaining analytical data and providing analytical support to other IR-4 staff. Ideal candidates will have a master’s degree or Ph.D. in chemistry and at least three years of experience in pest management research/regulatory sciences, or a bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of experience in chemistry.
